I take immense pride in the inauguration of the Saranganavee Gold Awards, first launched on 15 November 2022 at the prestigious Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall.
The concept of Saranganavee was born from a clear and purposeful vision rooted in the profession I represent—Cosmetology. It was my aspiration to establish a distinguished platform that initially recognized and honored excellence within the cosmetology profession, the field of makeup artistry, and related vocational disciplines. Accordingly, the inaugural Saranganavee Awards were dedicated to uplifting and appreciating professionals within these sectors.
The name Saranganavi embodies the meaning of women of substance—prosperous not merely in material wealth, but enriched across economic, social, cultural, religious, spiritual, educational, health, technological, and political dimensions. This broader philosophy formed the foundation upon which the Saranganavee Gold Awards were established.
Moving forward, the Saranganavi Gold Awards will be conducted annually without interruption, expanding beyond its initial scope to recognize all professional sectors that significantly contribute to the national economy and sustainable development of the country.
It is also with great satisfaction that, in conjunction with the awards ceremony, the inaugural issue of the Saranganavee Newspaper was launched under the authorship and editorial leadership of Anura Dissanayake, further strengthening the intellectual and social mission of this initiative.
As the Founder and Owner of Saranganavee, and through the continued support extended via the ICT Council, I extend my deepest appreciation to my close associate, Director, and Advisor, Dr. Anura Dissanayake, for his invaluable guidance and counsel. I also respectfully acknowledge all Saranganavee Award recipients and all Cosmetology graduates who have obtained management-related qualifications under my supervision.
